NEW e-Ticket Dominican Republic

In an effort to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Dominican Republic will adopt a new electronic system for international travelers. The system will be providing digital versions of the currently 3 different forms visitors from abroad have to fill out. These forms will be combined into one.

  1. Traveler’s Health Affidavit
  2. Customs Declaration
  3. International Boarding/Disembarking form

All passengers entering and departing the country will be required to fill out and submit their digital forms through the Electronic Ticket Portal (e-Ticket) either before or upon their arrival to the country. The e-Ticket substitutes the old system called “Tourist Card“. It is mandatory for each passenger to truthfully complete the information on the electronic Ticket. This new system combines the requirements of the Ministry of Public Health, the General Directorate of Customs, and the General Directorate of Migration in one user-friendly digital form.

e-Ticket Procedure

Upon completion of the new digital form, the traveler will receive a personalized QR for confirmation. This code must be presented and scanned by the authorities at the port of entry or by the airlines at check-in during departure.  The new electronic system will help to reduce lines and speed up the process during immigration. Dominican airports will provide free internet service to allow passengers the option to fill up their forms upon arrival.

Starting February 1st, 2021 the new contactless immigration system will be mandatory and the first of its kind in the Caribbean.
